International Museum Day at the Glass Museum
Glass as a centrepiece - shaping tradition
18 May is "International Museum Day" - a day on which museums around the world show how they stand the test of time and keep cultural heritage alive. At the Frauenau Glass Museum, we are dedicated to the intangible cultural heritage of manual glassmaking - a traditional craft that we want to preserve, pass on and allow future generations to experience.
The museum workshop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - design a personalised window pendant that has been handmade in the oven. By painting, engraving or sticking them on, you can create unique personalised mementos.
A free guided tour of the exhibition starts at 2 pm. Registration is not required and only the regular Sunday admission fee of 1 euro for adults applies.
