1
"I take a small lump of glass out of the oven by turning the pipe to form a kölbl."
2
"I mould it and blow into the pipe to create a Kölbl."
3
"The Kölbl is pierced again with glass and then inflated into a glass balloon."
4
"The glassmaking pipe must be cooled with water in between. The glass balloon is blown into its final shape in the mould."
5
"I now get the pipe with the glass body from the glassmaker and, with the help of my colleague, the cutter, the glass with which I mould the stem or base."
6
"For larger glass objects, a model holder is needed to hold the wooden mould, the so-called model, firmly in place."
7
"There are various tools for working with glass, such as glassmaking scissors. You can use them to cut the right amount of glass."
8
"The Kölbl is rolled and moulded on an iron plate, the so-called "Wuzlplattn". The "Woigahaizl" - a tool with which I can mould the glass - is placed in the over-trough, a container with water. It always has to be wet."
9
"The model is the mould made of beech wood for blowing in the glass. It must always be wet, as the glowing glass blown into it runs on a thin layer of vapour. This gives the glass its smooth surface."
10
"Because it's incredibly hot at the furnace, the glassmakers have to drink a lot."
