Vladimir Klein and Jiří Suchý at the Frauenau Glass Museum
The exhibition "Glass and Sculpture" takes visitors into the world of modern Czech glass. Two prominent representatives, Vladimir Klein and Jiří Suchý, are guests at the Frauenau Glass Museum. Vladimir Klein is considered one of the greats of the international studio glass scene. In his moulded objects, he perfectly combines sculptural activity with the cold working of glass in a wide variety of forms. He even uses a hammer and chisel. Vladimir Klein's works are characterised by perfect craftsmanship, clear lines and an unmistakable aesthetic.
Jiří Suchý belongs to a younger generation of artists. However, his glass objects follow the formal language of classic Czech glass sculpture. In his compositions, Suchý works with geometric objects and their shifting, layering and mixing. His main aim is to evoke emotions in his audience. He achieves this not only with his objects, but also with his paintings, which are created using a technique he developed himself. He "paints" with hot glass in combination with acrylic colours.
