form follows f… Works from the Cornelius Réer glass workshop

Cornelius Reer, a glassmaker from Nuremberg, has been designing objects for the home for over 30 years: drinking vessels, vases, bowls and more. His work centres on the fundamental questions of applied art: form, colour, function and manufacturing techniques.

The exhibition showcases Cornelius Reer’s unique approach to this material. He does not regard design rules as dogma. „Form follows function?“ „Form follows flow?“ Or perhaps „form follows fun“? For him, the most important thing is this: design must not be boring.

Using glassmaking techniques, new creations are produced every year. Some series endure for years, whilst others fade away. Simple drinking glasses with a distinctive feel sit alongside functional carafes and experimental installations. For his objects, he interlays functional forms to create unique colour spaces.

Design and manufacture form an inseparable creative symbiosis.
