Natural glasses

Natural
Glasses and their creation

Over 4000 years ago, in the Bronze Age, man probably discovered glass by chance while melting metal or firing ceramics.

To melt glass, you need quartz sand, soda and lime.
But humans are not the only ones who can produce glass. In nature, glass has always been created by great heat, for example during volcanic eruptions, lightning strikes or meteorite events. Glass-forming rocks melt and then solidify quickly to form natural rock glass.
